New England Village (NEV) of Pembroke, MA, a residential facility for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, is looking for volunteer aquatics coaches to help support its Special Olympics Massachusetts (SOMA) aquatics team.  This is a great opportunity for anyone who wants an interactive experience working with Special Olympics athletes.

New England Village (NEV) of Pembroke, MA, a residential facility for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, is looking for volunteer aquatics coaches to help support its Special Olympics Massachusetts (SOMA) aquatics team.  This is a great opportunity for anyone who wants an interactive experience working with Special Olympics athletes.  Responsibilities include: structuring and running weekly practices, helping athletes develop their individual skills in a team environment, attending SOMA regional and statewide competitions, and supporting cooperative team fundraising efforts.  Practices will be held on Saturday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. through June 14, leading up to the SOMA State Summer games at Harvard and Boston University in mid-June.  Full support from both SOMA and New England Village, including free coaches training clinics, is available.  For more information contact Klete Squires of Special Olympics MA, at 508-821-3635 or This email address is being protected from spambots.
