November slammed into Duxbury Friday as a strong windstorm downed trees and caused power outages across the town.
Police and Fire crews were busy with calls of trees blocking roads and power outages across the town. 135 customers were without power as of 2:30 p.m. Friday, NStar reported, as crews worked to removed downed trees and repair downed wires.
The high school, middle school and Alden school were without power for about an hour late Friday morning.
Fire crews responded to a blown transformer on Marshal Street early Friday morning and continued on to Hatches Bar Road, which was completely blocked due to a downed tree, as well as Union Bridge, Woodridge Road, Valley Street and Union Street for downed trees and wires.
Some residents chose to take advantage of the high winds and unseasonally warm temperatures and jumped into Duxbury Bay to go windsurfing.
Check back in throughout the day for updates on power outages and blocked roads.
