Police have arrested a man currently residing in Duxbury for being a fugitive of justice.

Duxbury Police arrested William Kalinowski, 68, currently living on Bay Road Monday evening. Kalinowski is the subject of numerous arrest warrants issued in New Mexico, where he is charged with multiple counts of fraud and embezzlement in connection to a failed homebuilding enterprise in that state.

State Police notified Duxbury Monday afternoon of the recent issuance of warrants for Kalinowski by a Santa Fe court. Duxbury Police contacted the Santa Fe Police and confirmed the warrants and officers located a vehicle registered to Kalinowski at a home on Bay Road. After making contact with Kalinowski, police took him into custody and transported him to the Duxbury Police station to be booked as a fugitive from justice.

Police Chief Matthew Clancy said Kalinowski was cooperative with police. He was arraigned at Plymouth District Court on Tuesday and has indicated he will waive extradition to New Mexico to respond to the charges.
