Two Mashpee men were taken to South Shore Hospital early Monday morning with non-fatal injuries after their Jeep Cherokee collided with a construction vehicle on Route 3 southbound, in Duxbury.
Massachusetts State Trooper Todd Nolan said Duxbury and Pembroke EMS units responded to a call that driver Shawn Edwards, 23, and passenger Ryan Morrison, 28, had left their lane and crashed into a truck in the breakdown lane at 2:04 a.m. Southbound lanes at Route 139 were sub- sequently shut down for over two hours, re-opening again at 4:10 a.m.
At 2:32 a.m. the Duxbury Fire Department tweeted the following: “Accident Rt 3 south north of exit 11. Jaws of life being used by Duxbury firefighters. Avoid area”
Nolan said no construction workers were injured during the collision.
The accident is still being investigated.
