A Marshfield man was charged with breaking and entering in the nighttime and larceny on Wednesday after Duxbury Police were called and notified of a disturbance near Blakeman’s Snack Shop at Duxbury Beach at 1:49 a.m. on July 16.
Officers stopped a black van pulling away from Blakeman’s with the headlights off and detained 21-year-old Tyler Spillane. Spillane was released following a field investigation. A caretaker for the business told officers nothing looked out of place.
Later the same morning, police were notified by Blakeman’s manager that they had been the victim of a burglary, as cash and soda were missing. Duxbury police detectives, assisted by Marshfield detectives, responded to Spillane’s home in Marshfield for further investigation.
Spillane was determined to be in possession of items stolen during the burglary and was placed under arrest and transported to the Duxbury Police Station for booking. Spillane was arraigned at Plymouth District Court on Wednesday on charges for breaking and entering in the nighttime and larceny from a building.
