The Town of Duxbury reached an agreement with former police chief Mark DeLuca Monday evening, Jan. 14, to settle the case brought to federal court regarding DeLuca's employment contract and First Amendment rights.
If approved by Town Meeting, the town will pay DeLuca $255,000 and the town's insurer will pay DeLuca an additional $35,000, a total amount of $290,000 equal to the amount the previous Board of Selectmen agreed to pay him in October 2009, with interest.
