The chill of another New England autumn once again welcomes spirits to the Alden House for their 11th Annual Haunted House on Saturday, Oct. 20 from 6 to 9 p.m. This year the Aldens will be welcoming back spirits of Duxbury’s past to celebrate the town’s 375th anniversary.
Come on down and enjoy a spooky evening at the Alden House that will include pumpkin carving with the assistance of the Duxbury Community Garden Club, free cider, and our first ever scarecrow competition. Contestants will be responsible for making their own home-made scarecrow, setting it up by 6 p.m. the day of the event and removing it the following day. The entry fee is $5 and winners will receive cash prizes of $100 for first place, $50 for second place and $25 for third place that was generously donated by the Town of Duxbury’s 375th Committee. This is a great opportunity to have fun creating your own unique scarecrow displayed at a National Historic Landmark for all to see. Admission for the Haunted House is $5 for adults and $3 for children. For more information please contact the Alden House at 781-934-9092.
