The Duxbury girls’ cross-country team travelled to Whitman-Hanson last Tuesday and lost to the powerful Panthers on their 3.1-mile home course, 15-50, dropping its record to 2-3.
Whitman-Hanson took the first seven spots with the top four female runners coming in at the same time (20:37). The next three Panthers came in as a group with a time of 21:57. Duxbury’s senior captain Lauren Bittrich was the first Duxbury runner in eighth-place with a time of 22:28.
Four more W-H runners came in before Duxbury’s second runner (senior Kara O’Leary/24:24) and another trio of Panthers followed before the next three Duxbury runners (senior Caroline Manning/25:22, junior Caroline Bittrich 25:42 and junior Rachel Button 26:14).
Duxbury’s final runner was Jackie Hanrahan (28:43).
