|Girl swimmers continue winning ways|

The Duxbury girlsâ€™ swim team continued its winning streak last week with wins against Randolph and Quincy, remaining unbeaten in Patriot League action with a 6-0 record.
Tuesdayâ€™s 63-35 win against Randolph was led by the freshmen and sophomores, who accumulated six first-place finishes.
Freshman Katie Eagan took first in the 200-yard freestyle with a Sectional qualifying time of 2:12:78. Freshman Elizabeth Buckley finished second and Haley Chatlin was third. Freshman Jill Coghlan took first in two events including the 100-yard breaststroke and the 200-yard IM. In the 100 breaststroke, Coghlan was followed by juniors Caela Shay and Deirdre Murphy in second and third respectively. Freshman Sabrina Linsky was second in the 200 IM, with Deirdre Murphy bringing home third.
The 50-yard freestyle was won by sophomore Shelby Rader with a Sectional qualifying time of 27:09. There was a race for second between sisters Krista Librett and Cari Librett, with Krista taking second and Cari finishing third. Sophomore Aly Wolfe was a winner in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:03:94. Freshmen Annie Sweeney and Lauren McKim brought home second and third respectively.
Junior Krista Librett won the 100-yard backstroke, followed by Alix Brady in second and Elizabeth Buckley in third. The 500-yard freestyle and the 100-yard butterfly were both won by freshmen. Olivia Zelvis took first in the 500 freestyle with a time of 6:10:72, while Miranda Vandingstee was first in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:11:90.
The all-freshmen team of Hannah Riddle, Jess Nelson, Mackenzie Elliott and Maeve McCarthy took first in the 200-yard medley relay.
In diving, Sam Tougas finished in first place, followed by Kelsey Golden in second and Kelly Masgul in third.
On Thursday at the Percy Walker Pool the girls defeated Quincy, 93-85. Senior co-captain Sarah Goldberg won two events, finishing first in the 100-yard backstroke with a State qualifying time of 1:03:97, while Libret and Chatlin took second and third, respectively. In the 100 butterfly, Goldberg swam a 1:08:31, followed by freshman teammates Zelvis in second and Meg Murray in third.
The 100-yard freestyle was won by senior co-captain Emily Hutchinson with a Sectional qualifying time of 58:79. She was followed by freshman sister Hannah Hutchinson and Riddle. The Hutchinson sisters raced head- to -head in the 50 freestyle event with Hannah Hutchinson (26.50) just touching out Emily Hutchinson (26.91) for first place.
Sophomore Ellie Johnson had two first-place finishes with a win in the 200 IM and the 500 freestyle. She touched first in the 500 free (5:32:03) with Jessie Goldberg in second and Michaela Morris was third. The 200 IM was also Johnsonâ€™s event with a first-place time of 2:20:75. Freshman Elizabeth Buckley finished third. Coghlan came in first in the 100 breaststroke (1:18:88) with Avery Riddle touching second and Wolfe placing third.
The 200-yard medley relay was easily won by teammates Sarah Goldberg, Ellie Johnson, Katie Eagan and Hannah Hutchinson with a State qualifying time of 2:01:62.
The girlsâ€™ next meet is at home on Jan. 25 against Hanover.
