Freshman Jonathan Stoddard and senior captain Andy Puopolo continue to go out as the #1 and #2 golfers for the Dragons, but a trio of young guns was responsible for the win over the Sailors.

Sophomore Phil Sciretta’s 41 led the way for Duxbury in a round that included six pars, while classmates Brayden Minihan (5 pars) and Kevin Kuckuk (4 pars/ birdie) shot rounds of 42.

Senior captain Mark Tedeschi pared four holes on his way to a round of 43, while Stoddard (44) and Puopolo (45) rounded out the Duxbury scoring to complete the 10-stroke win.

Duxbury returned home on Thursday to tackle the Lakers, as Stoddard was back in form with a seven-par, one bird performance for a medalist round of 36.

Tedeschi also liked the home course feel, as Duxbury’s #4 player carded a 38 with seven pars, followed by Sciretta (3 pars/birdie) and Minihan (6 pars) at 39.

Kuckuk and sophomore Billy Curley had identical rounds of 40 that included three pars and a single birdie.

Puopolo (2 pars) and Curtis Owen (par) were the alternates.
