The Duxbury 4th of July Road Race drew a record field of 527 entrants this year.  However, another record was soon to fall when Brendan Prindiville from Boston smashed the previous course record by over a minute, finishing the 4.25 mile course in 21 minutes 14 seconds.   Brendan took an early lead in the race, setting a sizzling 4:45 first mile, then eased up on the gas to finish with exactly five minutes per mile pace.

Kerry Hennessey from Plymouth was the overall Women’s winner, with a time of 25:16 and an average pace of 5:57.   The Women’s course record still stands at 24:38.{sidebar id=4}

Tod Dillon was the fastest native Duxbury runner, finishing 9th in 23:52.   The fastest Duxbury women’s runner was Katie Grossman who finished second in the Women’s division with a time of 27:17.
