Freshman attack Nick Violandi (DHS ’07) scored his fifth goal of the year and assisted on another in Assumption’s 13-3 lacrosse win over Nichols… Assumption senior Jenna Goldstein (DHS ’04) scored a pair of goals in the Greyhounds 21- 7 loss to Merrimack last Tuesday…

Freshman attack Nick Violandi (DHS ’07) scored his fifth goal of the year and assisted on another in Assumption’s 13-3 lacrosse win over Nichols… Assumption senior Jenna Goldstein (DHS ’04) scored a pair of goals in the Greyhounds 21- 7 loss to Merrimack last Tuesday…Senior captain Bethany Nardone (DHS ’04) was credited with 2 groundballs as her #10-rankeed Babson College lacrosse team smacked MIT 23-13 early last week in Cambridge… Sophomore Kevin Gould (DHS ’05) scored 2 goals and assisted on another in Bentley’s 12-5 loss to Bryant. He followed that up with a one-goal/one-assist effort in a 9-7 loss to St. Michael’s. Junior Chris Woods (Sandwich ’05) also scored a goal and registered an assist for Bentley in the St. Michael’s game, while Bentley freshman Troy Neville (DHS ’07) was 1 for 3 on face-offs for the Falcons vs. Bryant, and followed that up with a 2 for 3 face-off effort against St. Mike’s… {sidebar id=4}

 Freshman Molly Nestor (Notre Dame ’07) went 1 for 4 and scored a run in the second game of Bowdoin’s weekend softball sweep of Trinity… Sophomore pitcher Jamie Ducinski (DHS ’06) won both games for Bridgewater State in its sweep of Framingham State on Friday. Ducinski started game 1 and scattered 5 hits over 4 innings in Bridgewater State’s 3-1, then she came on in relief in game 2 and allowed just 2 hits in a 5-inning stint in Bridgewater’s 5-4 win…Carleton College freshman catcher Grant Bowen (DHS ’07) broke up a no-hitter with a single in the fourth-inning of game 2 in an 11-0 loss to Hamline. Two days later Bowen hit a sacrifice fly to drive home a run in Carleton’s 7-4 win over Augsburg in a game played at the Metrodome in Minneapolis… Senior Colin Riggs (DHS ’04) went 1 for 3 and scored 3 runs while driving in one in Colby’s 11-1 win over Husson. The following day he doubled in Colby’s 6-3 loss to St. Joseph’s (ME)… Dartmouth senior Kristen Barry (Thayer ’04) score a goal in the Big Green’s 8-5 lacrosse loss to #7-ranked Penn on Saturday in Hanover, NH…{sidebar id=1}


Senior Tim Daniels (Milton Academy ’04) scored a goal and added an assist in Dartmouth’s 16-11 loss to #5-ranked Cornell on Saturday in Ithaca, NY… Max Quinzani (DHS ’07) scored a career-high seven goals and Duke scored 10 straight goals to close the contest as the second-ranked Blue Devils defeated third-ranked Virginia, 19-9, in front of a record crowd of 8,000 fans at Klockner Stadium on Saturday night in Charlottesville, Va… Sophomore Betsey Sauer (DHS ’06) and her Duke University lacrosse team knocked off Boston College, 16-6, on Saturday in NC. In Duke’s previous game against #1-ranked Northwestern, Sauer saw significant time on defense in her team’s 15-11 loss… Junior Chris Ajemian (DHS ’05) scored 2 goals and assisted on another as Fairfield lost to Yale and sophomore Matt Fuchs (DHS ’06), 12-9, on Saturday. Ajemian was credited with 6 shots on net, while Fuchs grabbed 4 groundballs… Georgetown sophomore Chris Nixon (DHS ’06) and his #4-ranked Hoyas were upset by #18-ranked Loyola, 11-9, on Saturday in Baltimore… Junior Steve Caramello (DHS ’05) scored his 8th goal of the year in Hartwick’s 15-8 win over Utica last week. On Saturday the Duxbury grad notched 2 goals and assisted on another in a 15-11 loss to Ithaca… Freshman Will Tucker (DHS ’07) scored the lone point at #6 singles for the Hobart tennis team in its 8-1 loss to Ithaca… Freshman Kerri Connolly (DHS ’07) led the University of Maryland players with a tie for 35th individually, as the Terrapins posted a 15th-place finish in the team standings Tuesday at the UNCW Lady Seahawk Invitational women’s golf tournament. Connolly posted her lowest 54-hole score of the spring season with a 231. She led the Terrapins on the scoreboard for the third time this season after shooting rounds of 77-75-79… Junior Lexi Marrocco (DHS ’05) scored 2 goals in Richmond’s 20-12 win over American University. Sister Erica (DHS ’06) had 10 saves in the Richmond net… Junior Wava Doyle (DHS ’05) finished 6th in the 800-meters (2:24.60) at the 2008 Murray Neely Invitational in NC… Sophomore Rian Kearney (DHS ’06) and his Roger Williams lacrosse team knocked off Wheaton, 14-11 with help from senior Dan Endrusick (DHS ’04) who was 7 for 15 on face-offs and was credited with 3 groundballs. In that same game Ben Cederberg (DHS ’07) and Jeff Gomer (DHS ’05) scored goals for Wheaton, while junior FJ Buckley (DHS ’05) was credited with 5 groundballs for the Lyons… Mass Maritime Academy’s Meredith Hall (DHS ’07) led the Buccaneers s to a fifth-place finish among women’s teams at the Corsair Classic at U. Mass-Dartmouth on Saturday when she won the javelin with a throw of 103’ 2” and qualified for the New England Finals…

Junior Tom Levesque (DHS ’05) scored 3 goals and assisted on another, while brother Matt (DHS ‘06) scored a pair of goals in Skidmore’s 7-6 loss to Williams last Tuesday in NY. On Saturday Tom scored 2 more goals and Matt added one in a 9-5 loss to Union. Tom is Skidmore’s leading goal scorer with 22, while Matt is right behind with 21… Caitlin Murphy (DHS ’04) and Alison Frye (’06) are members of the Bates women’s  1st-varsity boat  that won its race by 4 seconds on Saturday over UNH, Wesleyan, and Tufts. On Sunday the Bates boat won in Worcester with a 7-second win over Simmons, Skidmore, and Wellesely…Defenseman Parny Ormiston (DHS ’04), a three-year captain of the DHS girls’ hockey team, recently finished her hockey career at Holy Cross where she played in every game, amassing a career total of 14 goals 21 assists. Ormiston was also named to the 2008 ECAC Div III All-Academic team for the second time after registering a GPA over 3.0 on a 4.0 scale…  The starting job as the University of Virginia’s football center in 2008 has been all but given to sophomore Jack Shields (BCHS ’06). It was a vision Head Coach Al Groh had years ago when Shields attended Virginia’s summer camp as a tall and lanky tight end. “The remark was made by somebody at that time that he may not run a great-looking route as a tight end, but how many centers could run a corner route like that,” Groh recounted… Colleen Dwyer (DHS ‘07) is a freshman at UMass-Dartmouth and a member of the 2007-08 cheerleading squad. The UMass-Dartmouth cheerleaders won the  NCAA National Cheerleading Championship in All-Girl Division II this past weekend in Daytona Beach.
