Both squads had a very successful year, and the girls’ team is all freshmen and sophomores, so Coach Alec Petro has to be excited about the program’s future.

The girls qualified as a team, finishing in second place in the Small School Division. The five team members going to the State Championships are Brooke Kent, Katie Finicchairo, Jenna Bahr, Colleen Brooks, and Allie Martin, along with Kim Gregg, who will serve as an alternate.

Kevin Nolan (2nd) and Chad Conway (9th) qualified as individuals to race in the boys’ State Championship by finishing in the top 10 of the Small School individual standings for the season.{sidebar id=1}

 The boys’ team finished third in the Small School standings by a small margin, but did not qualify.

 Boys’ highlights in the individual standings include: Kevin Nolan (10th / 2nd), Chad Conway (19th/9th), and Kevin Lynch (29th /15th).

 The team will arrive at Wachusett by 8 a.m. on the day of the championships for a course inspection that will begin at 8:30 and end at 9:15. The races will consist of one Giant Slalom and one Slalom race, and team scoring will be based on the best four out of five runs by team members in both races.{sidebar id=6}
