The Duxbury Fire Department fought a brush fire Sunday afternoon for over two hours as the heat and wind fueled the fire.
Fire crews were sent to Crescent Street Sunday afternoon in response to a brush fire that covered almost an acre. With multiple breakers on scene, fire crews worked to knock down the fire as quickly as possible. The area where the brush fire started was right off of the water and, despite all the rain on the Fourth of July, the ground was still very dry.
It took 2,000 gallons of water and just about two hours to knock down the fire.
