Mr. Smokey had said he would like to see a "gifted and talented" program for his children in Duxbury, and has also said that he pays for tutors for them. Most students who are "gifted" and "talented" rise to such a level in a public school system, that the proper private schools for them which cater to their talents become obvious. It is unclear whether the tutors that Mr. Smokey provides are for advancing his "gifted" and "talented" children, or to help them with basic academics.

Smokey,
I can only assume that your claim that “the system has rights to full disclosure on your part with respect to your child” refers to the fact that I have refused to give the school district complete, hard copies of the two years worth of private, protected and personal psychiatric records that the school attorney was paid approx $40,000 to pursue through the BSEA.
Let us consider the fact that I received a letter from the BSEA late yesterday afternoon that was also made available to Superintendent Sue Skeiber, Administrator of Special Ed Deb Corvini, school attorney Colby Brunt, and possibly some members of the School Committee. Within hours, very specific details of the content of that BSEA letter were posted on this public Forum by someone who anonymously calls him/herself “discocows” and claims to have “no affiliation with the Duxbury School system”. How and why was a copy of that BSEA letter leaked to “discocows” within hours of the time that I received it, especially if “discocows” has “no affiliation with the Duxbury School system”?
If the minute details of yesterday’s BSEA letter ended up on this public Forum within a matter of hours, do you really think that I was wrong in protecting the confidentiality of my son’s psych records by not providing hard copies of them to these same people? If Sue Skeiber, Deb Corvini, Colby Brunt or a school committee member leaked a copy of that BSEA letter yesterday, then I have no doubt that my son’s private medical records would also have been leaked a long time ago.

I think now would be a good time for a friendly reminder that this is not a forum for personal attacks.
Let's keep the debate on the issues and keep it civil, please!
Thank you

If "Smokey" is actually a school committee member, then I believe that his remarks about special education students reflect an intolerance that is unacceptable in that position, and if it is determined that this is the case, I would support a recall effort.

I think bloggers would be interested to know that the Mass.gov website has a search engine.
Readers of this forum may be further interested to see what results are returned when you type "bsea and duxbury" into that search box.
Given that tax dollars pay for this information, you have the freedom to read this information.
As Mr. Cutler has tried to advise, internet information is never truly private. Pehaps that should be considered when providing personal detailed information on this public forum.

Public records by definition are public, no new revelations with that. I think Mr. Cutler needs to step in and address N. Diamond's comment about Ms. White's personal life. It is inappropriate, and has no relevance in a special education forum.
New: Thank you Mr. Cutler.

I agree and have removed those comments. It's a two-way street though, so please keep that in mind.

Mr. Cutler,
I'm curious how the below comments about smokey's children do not fall into the same realm of censorship that N. Diamond's comments about Ms. White are in. Would you be willing to share your criteria for editing blogs to this forum?

The comment from N Diamond was clearly over the line. It was much more personal than the quote above.
But I agree with your point, Disco, comments about other people's kids are not cool and won't be tolerated.
In fairness, let me add one more point. Whether someone is on the school committee, selectmen, etc. or not may be relevant to your discussion, but I don't think comments about "recalls" are very helpful to the dialogue.
Plenty of shots have been taken at school committee members and school officials here and if they want to hop on and defend themselves or offer a different point of view that's fair game in my book.
Just keep it on the issues.

Ms White has opened up the door for scutiny of her actions by being so public on this forum. I respectfully disagree that my comments were inapropriate or crossed a line.
A previous blogger has asked if her son was aware of this issue and her quote is below. What if her son was to create a login and share his opinions on this matter. Would he be censored as well if he shared his personal information? Would he be censored if he did not agree with his mother?
Just wondering.

My son knows about, supports and encourages all of my efforts to advocate for those children and for him. And, thank you very much, after the events and actions of this past week, my life did just get much better.
